Mary Florence (Marger) Klaybor
May 3, 1918 – Dec. 17, 2004
Mary Florence Klaybor, 86, formerly of Azalea Court, South Bend, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 17, in her residence in Mishawaka. Mary was born May 3, 1918, in South Bend, Ind., to Louis and Florence (Luther) Marger. She graduated from the former South Bend Central High School and was then employed in the South Bend Court House, where her work introduced her to a young policeman whom she married.
On May 6, 1950, she married John S. Klaybor in St.Joseph’s Catholic Church, South Bend. He passed away Feb.7, 1969.
Her family was most important in her life and she stayed home to raise her children. They include three daughters, Jacqueline Klaybor of South Bend, Margaret (George) Weber of Granger and Mary (Stephen) Pajakowski of South Bend; and two sons, John Klaybor of Granger and Joseph (Kristie) Klaybor of Vandalia, MI. Mary is also survived by three sisters, Anna Marger of South Bend, Catherine (Michael) Yriberry of Arequipa, Peru, and Margaret Whitcher of Orchard Park, N.Y. Her grandchildren were the pride of her life and include Gregory Weber, Carol Weber, Adam Pajakowski, Stephanie Pajakowski and Thaddeus Pajakowski.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Marger and Regina Marger; and one brother, Louis Marger.
She worked as a secretary in the Art Department at the University of Notre Dame and later as the Guidance Secretary at St. Joseph’s High School, retiring in 1983.She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church for forty years and an active member of the Schuyler Colfax Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Friends and family may visit from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec.20, at the McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend, with Rev. Thomas Jones, CSC, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or to St.Joseph’s High School.
