Sara Jane (Layfield) Richardson

Sara Jane Richardson. 55. of 59350 Ireland Tr., Mishawaka, was dead on arrival at St. Joseph Hospital. Mishawaka, at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday after suffering an apparent heart attack. She was born in South Bend on Jan. 11. 1918.

In 1937 in South Bend,  she was married to Ralph A. Richardson. who survives. Also surviving are a son. Ralph A. Jr., stationed with the Army in Fort Worth, Tex.: two daughters. Mrs. Barbara Jane Couturie of Ankara, Turkey, and Lynn A. at home: two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Warrick of South Bend.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the South Bend Chapel of the Hollis Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bavo Catholic. Church. Mishawaka, Rev. Robert J. Mahoney, assistant pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Richardson was a member of the Ladies of the Elks, Lodge 235 South Bend and co-owner of Mito-Craft Inc.
