Carl W. Kuehn, aged 22, of 1038 Lincoln Way West, was killed in terrific automobile and truck collision on state road No. 2 one-half mile west of the St. Joseph-Laporte county line at 5 o'clock this morning. Two companions, one a local youth and the other a hitch hiker, miraculously escaped serious injury when the sedan in which they were riding caromed off the highway after crashing into the truck, struck down half a dozen guard posts and toppled over a hill
Mr. Kuehn was asleep in the rear seat. The local men were en route home from Chicago

The funeral of Carl W. Kuehn, 22, of 1038 Way West, victim of an automobile accident, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the residence. Rev. William C. Zimmann, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery. Members of lodge No. 29, I.O.O.F., in which Mr. Kuehn was a member, will have charge of services at the grave
