Alex M. Krupa, 56, of 2227 N. Johnson St., died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He retired from the South Bend Police Department in 1970 after serving 20 years.
He was born June 4, 1916. in South Bend and had lived here all his life
On Oct. 19, 1940 he married Dorothy Graykowski who survives. Also surviving are a daughter. Mrs. Portia Gregor of South Bend; two grandchildren, and two sisters, Veronica Jaworski and Elizabeth Marchelewicz, both of South Bend.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. . Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Casimir F. Grabarz. C.S.C.. pastor. officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Mr. Krupa was a World War II Navy veteran. and was a member of Pulaski Post 357, American Legion; the F.O.P.. and Nest No. 80. the Z.B. Falcons
