Margaret Carolyn (Krueger) Schake

Margaret C. Schake, 85, of Parliament Drive, South Bend, Ind., died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Alterra Sterling House, South Bend.

Margaret was born on Aug. 3, 1917, in LaPorte, Ind., to Waldemar Julius and Rose Louise (Moeller) Krueger.

On Oct. 18, 1941, she married Alfred C. Schake, who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1993. Among three brothers who also preceded her in death was Floyd W. Krueger.   

Margaret is survived by a daughter, Linda Lou Schake of Watertown, Wis.; and by three nieces, Marilyn (Rolland) Cabana of South Bend, Julianne (Ray) Wohlfert of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Karen (Michael) Gasho of Portsmouth, Ohio.

Margaret was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, South Bend. Through the years she was actively involved in church clubs and retardation programs.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in the Palmer Funeral Home, River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Gregory Fiechtner will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services on Friday in the funeral home.
