Herbert L. Goffeney

Feb. 13, 1917-Aug. 7, 1993

SOUTH BEND Herbert Goffeney, 76, Bayswater Place, died at 4:50 p.m. Saturday in the home of his stepson on Strawberry Hill Road, after an illness.

Mr. Goffeney retired in 1979 from Dodge Division of Reliance Electric Co., Mishawaka, after years of service. He was born Feb. 13, 1917, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On July 9, 1962, in South Bend, he married Rosemary Labis. She died April 4, 1992.

He is survived by a stepson, Gregory J. Labis of South Bend: two grandchildren; and three sisters, Marjorie Vest Santa Ana, Calif., Joan Voorhies of South Bend and Dorothy Eager of Mishawaka.

A son, Gary, preceded him in death. 

He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. Memorial services will take place at a later date.

Cremation will take place. Hanley & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church
