Virginia A. (Gibson) Topping

July 4, 1917 – March 31, 2009

SOUTH BEND — Virginia A. Topping, born July 4, 1917, to Eva and William Gibson in South Bend, IN, and married for 63 years to Mory Topping who preceded her in death, passed away peacefully the morning of March 31, 2009, at Peabody Retirement Center in North Manchester, IN.

She is survived by her sister, Geraldine Howell of San Bruno, CA; two daughters, Suellen (Bob) Moynihan of Bloomington, IN, and Leslie (Luis N.) Galup of Niles, MI; grandchildren, Matt (Susan) Moynihan of Eagan, MN, Ryan Moynihan of Bloomington, IN, Mark Galup and Evan Galup of Bloomington, IN, Luis E. (Sheila) Galup of Andover, MA, and Graciela Galup (Zaid Mongell) of Cambridge, MA; and great-grandchildren, Sabrina and Cody Payton, Mason and Alexis Moynihan.

Virginia was a longtime resident of South Bend, enjoying bridge and golf for many years with the same group of friends before moving to Peabody. Her children and grandchildren share countless happy memories of fun-filled vacations, holiday celebrations and special times together.

A memorial service was held in Bloomington, IN, on April 2nd.The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Memory Enhancement Unit of the Peabody Retirement Center.
