Bernice J. (Borkowski) Closson

Bernice J. Closson, 81, of Bradenton, Fla., a former resident of Lafayette, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999. She was born in South Bend and lived in Lafayette from 1953 to 1989.
During World War II, she joined the Marine Corps. After the war, she served as veterans counselor for the Indiana Employment Security Division for five years. She was an office manager at Greater Lafayette TV Cable Co. for 10 years.
On Dec. 2, 1950 she married Everett Closson, who preceded her in death in April 1998.
Mr. Closson was the Lafayette city golf champion in 1960 and 1963. In 1995, she made a hole-in-one. Until moving to Bradenton she was an active member of St. Mary's Cathedral and past president of its Rosary and Altar Society.
Surviving are two sons, Allan Closson of Marietta, Ga., and Jeffrey Closson of Melbourne, Fla
