CRASH INJURY KILLS DRIVER Oather Alford. aged 28, of 215 Northwestern avenue, Chicago, formerly of South Bend, died at 5:30 a. m. Sunday, Sep 16, 1945,  in St. Nicholas hospital, Sheboygan, Wis., as result of injuries received in a truck accident Saturday night.

A truck driver, Mr. Alford received the injuries when his truck crashed into a tree after he had evidently fallen asleep. Born in Lancaster, Texas, July 31, 1917, he came to South Bend 19 years ago and went to Chicago five months ago. Four months ago he married Miss Connie Mae Harkness, who survives. Other survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lascom Alford, of South Bend; two brothers, Leslie and Ellis; and sisters. Mildred, Irene, Urie, Ethel, Dorothy, Helen and Ila, all of South Bend.

Friends may call in the Woolridge funeral home until the hour of the funeral services at 1 m. p.m Thursday in the, Church of God in Christ. Rev. B. Davis, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland cemetery.
