Lonnie V. Woods Sr.

March 28, 1934 - Dec. 11, 2002

Mr. Lonnie Vern Woods, Sr., 68, beloved father, grandfather and brother, passed from this life at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Lonnie was born March 28, 1934, in South Bend, Ind., to the union of James and Maude (Scruggs) Woods, who both preceded him in death. Lonnie attended Ball State University for two years, and was honorably discharged from the United States. Army after his service to his country was complete.

Lonnie was a professional musician by trade. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, and attended the Churches of God in Christ.

Mr. Woods leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Lori (Ernest) Clark of Pittsburgh, Pa., Julianne Woods of Columbus, Ohio, and Jill (Lamont) Clay of Massachusetts; three sons, Lonnie V. (Freda) Woods Jr. (M.A. Willis) of Indianapolis, Ind., Lon Renzel Woods of South Bend and Mark (Michelle) Lewis of Pittsburgh; a host of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; one sister, Geraldine Nichols; two brothers, Albert Bernard Woods, both of South Bend, and James Woods of Elkhart, Ind.; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Woods was also preceded in death by four brothers, Waddell Woods, Vertiselle Woods, Ronald Woods and Gerald Woods; and by two sisters, Edith Maxine Redd and Lillian Allene Hopkins.

The Homegoing Services for Mr. Lonnie Woods will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m. in Alford's Mortuary. Friends may visit one hour prior to services. Arrangements have been entrusted to ALFORD'S MORTUARY
