William Joseph Frederick

William "Bill" Frederick 90, of St. Therese in New Hope, passed away Wed., Dec. 23, 2015. A long time employee of NSP, Bill was a member of Most Holy Trinity and Christ the King Catholic Churches. He was an oblate of St. Benedict's Monastery.

Preceded in death by wife, Helen Elizabeth; daughter, Emily; siblings, Alex, Louis and Sr. Mary Leticia. Survived by children, Loretta (Don), Cecilia (Roger), and Tim (Sheila); grandchildren, Mikaela and Dylan; other relatives and friends.

Great adventurer, free thinker, son of Hungarian immigrants, puppet-lover, clown, one of life's great eccentrics, Bill enjoyed this world for ninety strong years, survived cancer with faith in God, integrative medicine, organic food and healthy living. He biked to work before it was cool. Raised his kids without a car or a television. He spent his days praying with the sick and dying. In 2013, his pastoral work was recognized with a Volunteer of the Year Award from Aging Services of Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a .m. Tuesday, Dec. 29 at the Church of Christ the King, 5029 Zenith Ave S, Mpls, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Christ the King, St. Benedict's Monastery, or to the donor's choice.
