Walter Brand Stansbury

Walter Brand Stansbury, 85, of Springfield MO, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 in his home with his family by his side. He was born June 22, 1926 in South Bend, IN to Walter and Marie (Hoffman) Stansbury. He was a member of Hillcrest Presbyterian Church and St Joseph Masonic Lodge #45, where he was a fifty year member.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He earned an Associates Degree in Engineering from De Forest institute. Walter worked as chief engineer at KOLR 10 and later worked as an engineer for KSPR. Walter was active in the Garden Railroad Society and he enjoyed woodworking.
He was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Marie (Hooffman) Stansburg and sister Patricia Seiser.
He is survived by his wife Fran Stansbury, seven children, Jeri Oravec, and Joseph, James Stansburg, Cyndi Stansburg, Scott Stansburg, Nancy Harmon, and Bob, Jeffrey Johnmeyer, and Jana Johnmeyer, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one brother, Robert Stansbury.
