Richard J. Kovacs

Richard J. Kovacs. 52. of 5319 Kings Mill St., died at 1:05 a.m. Friday, Dec 22, 1978, at home after an extended illness. He was a service engineer in the. energy control division of the Bendix Corp. where he was employed 28 vears.

He was born on Feb. 18. 1926 in South Bend and lived here all his life. On May 23. 1953 he married Gloria Wrzesien who survives. Also surviving are a daughter. Nancy Ellen at home; two sons, Mark at home and Jeffrey of South Bend.

Kovacs was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church and a World War II Air Force veteran. He graduated from Central High School in 1944 where he played varsity golf and tennis. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1950 where he played junior varsity golf. Kovacs was a member of the Bendix Golf League.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Church with Rev. Robert Yost, pastor. officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Welsheimer Funeral Home.
