Leon Maurice Wolvos, 56, of 2819 S. Dale Ave., was dead on arrival at 3 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after an apparent heart attack. Born April 30, 1915 in South Bend, he had lived here his lifetime.

On June 30, 1940, he married Bernice Teichman, who survives, along with his mother, Mrs. Anna Shavel of South Bend; a, son, Joel, a member of the South Bend Police Department; a daughter, Mrs. Sharyl Benovitz of Hillsdale, N.J.; two grandchildren; a brother, Alex of South Bend, and two sisters, Mrs. Dave Spanjer of Culver City, Calif., and Mrs. Robert Prince of Los Angeles.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Forest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Rabbi Elliot D. Rosenstock of Temple Beth-El, and Rabbi Albert M. Shulman, rabbi-emeritus of Temple Beth-El, officiating. Burial will be in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka.

Mr. Wolvos was the former owner of Max's Grocery and was an employee of the National Bank and Trust Co. He was a member of Temple Beth-El and the board of directors of the South Bend Grocers Assn
