Thomas H. Wekony

SOUTH BEND - Thomas H. Wekony, 84 years old, residing on Layton Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Sunday morning, Aug.

30, 1998, at his home of natural causes. Mr. Wekony was the owner and operator of the former Wekony The Hatter in South Bend, Ind. He was born on January 20, 1914, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Thomas D. and Elizabeth (Holzinger) Wekony.

Mr. Wekony has lived most of his life in South Bend. On May 20, 1970, in South Bend, he married Sallie A. Adams, who survives. Also surviving is one son, Thomas W. Wekony of South Bend, Ind.; and one nephew, Thomas P. Wekony of Mishawaka, Ind.

Mr. Wekony was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks in South Bend and a WWII United States Army veteran where he was honorably discharged.

Per Mr. Wekony's request, there will no visitation. Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville, Ind., is handling arrangements.
