George D. Simcox
SIMCOX — Word has been received of the Sept. 29, 1979 death of George D. Simcox, 66, of Canoga Park, Calif., formerly of South Bend, after an apparent heart attack. He had been ill for several years. He was retired from McPherson Enterprises, Battle Creek, Mich., where he worked as a manager. He was born on Jan. 2, 1913, in South Bend, and lived here most of his life.
In 1959, in Battle Creek, he married Joan Wolfe, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James of San Francisco, Calif. and Thomas of San Jose, Calif.; two grandchildren; a sister: Mrs. Joan Slisz of South Bend, and six brothers, Ralph, Chester and Raymond, all of South Bend, Frank of Mishawaka, Robert of Warsaw, Ind., and Bill of Canoga Park.
Services were Tuesday in Chatsworth, Calif. Bill Simcox, his brother, led the services. Burial was in Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatswortlf. Simcox was a graduate of the former South Bend Central High School, and was a World War II Naval veteran.
