James W. Seaborg

James W. Seaborg died Tuesday at the Medical Center at Princeton. He was 91 years old. Born in South Bend, IN, he lived in Staten Island for 33 years before moving to Rossmoor in Monroe Township in 1979. After receiving his B.S. in electrical engineering from Perdue University in Lafayette, IN, he worked for Westinghouse Co. for nine years. He then was in sales management for Muralo Paint Co., a family owned company in Bayonne, for 27 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a seaplane pilot for the U.S. Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander upon his discharge in 1946. He was a past president of the Kiwanis Club and Old Guard, both in Rossmoor, and served as president of his Mutual #12, also in Rossmoor. He was a volunteer at the University Medical Center at Princeton and was an avid golfer, holding membership at the Richmond County Country Club in Staten Island and the Rossmoor Golf Club. He also sailed his own sailboat out of then Seaside Park Yacht Club. He was a founding member of the Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Monroe Township.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Ann (Norton) Seaborg; a daughter, Barbara Clancey of Pennington; three sons, James and his wife Stephanie of Darien, CT, Edward and his wife Eileen of Staten Island, NY and Peter and his wife Peggy of Malvern, PA; a brother, Warren of Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren
