Helen Mabel (Rollf) Rupert
Jan. 26, 1915 – June 1, 2004
Helen M. Rupert, 89, of Prescott Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died following a lengthy illness at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, in her residence. Mrs.Rupert was born Jan.26, 1915, in St. Joseph, Mich., to the late Charles A. and Mabel R. (Seifert) Rollf, and was a lifetime area resident. On May 23, 1937, in South Bend, as Helen M. Rollf, she married George B.Rupert, who preceded her in death May 6, 1976.
She is survived by her daughter, Virdeen K. Rupert of South Bend; a sister, Velma Peacock of Kokomo, Ind. ;a brother, Charles “Babe” (Betty) Rollf of Green Valley, Ariz.; a niece, Nancy Partch of White Lake, Wis.; and two nephews, William (Judy) Peacock of Westato, Texas, and Charles E. “Gus” (Sandy) Peacock of Fayetteville, Tenn.
Helen was a member of Community Congregational Church and St. Joseph Chapter #569 Order of the Eastern Star. Her favorite outdoor activity was fishing, which she especially enjoyed sharing with George and Virdeen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, with Rev. Joel Wood of Community Congregational Church and Rev. Lloyd Phillips officiating.Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 3, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice
