Anthony J. Moinar
March 19, 1914 - April 5, 1999
SOUTH BEND Anthony "Tony" Molnar, 85, of Peach Drive, South Bend, Ind., died J. Stone at 7:01 p.m. on Monday, April 5, in Regency Place of South Bend. Mr. Molnar retired from both Adams Engineering and Capitol Engineering as a tool & die designer and checker. Previous to that he was employed with Witt Engineering for over 20 years. He was born to Anton and Gizella (Neher) Molnar on March 19, 1914, in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident.
On Sept. 6, 1941, he married Violet Ladewski in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend. She passed away on March 2, 1989. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and by two brothers, Frank and Leslie Molnar.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Ann (Jim) Michalski of South Bend and Mary Jane McCarthy of South Bend; his son in-law, James R. McCarthy of South Bend; three grandchildren, Kevin M. Michalski and Ann Marie McCarthy, both of South Bend, and Lynn Ann (Bill) Wargo of Elkhart, Ind.; a great-grandson, Jacob Robert Wargo of Elkhart; and by a sister, Gazella Molnar of South Bend.
Mr. Molnar belonged to St. Stanislaus Catholic Parish, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #58, St. Joseph Young Men's Society, and was a lifetime member of Elks BPOE #235.
He was a 1933 graduate of South Bend Central High School, and was the City of South Bend marble champion in 1928.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. today in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Polish Roman Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend.
