Georgia Marie (Knoblock) Winkelmann

Georgia Marie Winkelmann, was the beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 96, went home to be with her Lord on March 30, 2012.

She was born August 8, 1915 in Backus, Minnesota to Printus and Edith (nee Knoblock) Bartholomew. She worked as a secretary for John Adams High School, South Bend, Indiana City Schools, and the University of Akron Community and Technical College. She was a member of St. Luke's Church in Cuyahoga Falls where she sang in the choir.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Paul; and her son, John. She is survived by her son, George and his wife Maureen (nee Ahern); grandchildren, Kimberly Ann (Peter) Huber, Kirsten Elizabeth (Joshua) Smith, and Michael Ryan (Heather) Winkelmann; and six great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and many caregivers.

Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Thursday, April 5 from 3 to 4 p.m., with service beginning at 4 p.m., Pastor Larry Shaw officiating. Interment at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend, Ind. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Village at St. Edwards, 3125 Smith Rd., Akron, OH 44333 or St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 2121 6th. St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, in memory of Georgia.
