Joseph Kasa
July 19, 1913 – Nov. 25, 2004
Joseph Kasa, 91, of 2305 Chestnut Circle, Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 25 at the home of his son, Thomas, in Cherry Hill, NJ. Mr. Kasa was born July 19, 1913, in South Bend, IN, to George and Rose (Foki) Kasa. Married on March 30, 1940, to Eva N.“Billie” Patterson (deceased), Mr.and Mrs.Kasa lived at 1717 E.Ewing Ave, South Bend for nearly 60 years.
He is survived by his son, Thomas (Gloria) Kasa of Cherry Hill, NJ; two grandchildren, Thomas J.Kasa II of New York, NY and Kimberly B. Moore (Matthew) of Cherry Hill, NJ; and one great-grandchild, Colin Moore, all of whom were at his side when he passed away. Also surviving is one brother, Carl (Betty) of South Bend.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Billie; and three brothers, George, Frank, and Louis.
Joe graduated from South Bend Central High School and later worked at Wilson Brothers Shirt Company.He then joined the South Bend Fire Department, following in the footsteps of his father, George, and retired after 25 years of service. He was also a veteran of both World War II and Korea, earning two honorable discharges in the service of his country. Joe was a devoted and loving husband and a wonderful dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was also a veteran of both World War II.
A viewing will be held at the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W, 8th Street, Mishawaka, on Friday, December 3, from 4:00 to ^: p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, also at the Hahn Funeral Home, followed by burial at Highland Cemetery.
