Bernice A. "Berchie" Richardson, 90, of Sugar Pine Drive, Mishawaka, died Thursday evening in her home.

Bernice was born Nov. 16, 1915, in South Bend, to Gustav ad Mary (Fox) Jena, who preceded her in death along with two sisters, Ollie Dillman and Mildred Johnson. On Nov. 6, 1948, in South Bend, she married Daniel W. Richardson, who died March 22, 1984. 

Surviving are a daughter, Penny (Rick) Rodefer of Mishawaka; a son, Michael J. (Ann) Richardson of South Bend; five grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Richardson, Jaime (Patrick) Howard, Nicholas, Danielle and Beau Rodefer; one great-granddaughter, Kailyn Hartman, and one due in July; a sister, Florence Jena of South Bend; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernice was a graduate of South Bend Central High School and the first female officer of the National Bank and Trust Company, South Bend.
