SOUTH BEND - Ida Nelson, 78, of Addison Street, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Nelson was born Aug. 28, 1915, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.
In 1960, in South Bend, as Ida Janovsky, she married David Nelson. He survives with a daughter, Marlene Abrams of South Bend; two sons, Bernard and Robert, both of Houston; six grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and a brother, Oscar Janovsky of South Bend.
A son, Larry Cassel, died March 8, 1993.
She was a member of Sinai Synagogue.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Burial will be in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the synagogue or any charity

Nelson, 78, of 3426 Addison St., who died Oct. 14 in Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Sunday in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka. Rabbi Howard Shub, spiritual leader of Sinai Synagogue, will officiate. Forest G. Hay Funeral Home handled arrangements
