Orra Samuel Frame

Orra Samuel Frame, 83, of East Haney Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:36 a.m., Tuesday, in Memorial Hospital. He was born on Sept. 15, 1912, in Wilsall, Mont., to James and Orpha Edna Frame. He moved to South Bend in 1929 and graduated from Central High School in 1932.
On June 25, 1937, in Grace United Methodist Church, South Bend, he married Dorothy Hurlock. She survives along with a daughter, Sammie Lou Buckles of South Bend; a son, Thomas R. (Linda) Frame of Granger; five grandchildren, Troy Allen Buckles of Fort Worth, Texas, Shane "Pete" Buckles of Denver, Colo., Kelli Buckles of Lafayette, Ind., Patrick Thomas Frame of Springfield, Mass. and Daniel Thomas "Dutch" Frame of South Bend; and three great-grandchildren.
Orra worked at Studebaker Corporation and Bendix Corporation where he became a master plumber. In 1936, he opened and operated the Orra S. Frame & Son Plumbing & Heating Company.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of South Bend, a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge 294, and an active 50-year member of Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend and Avalon Grotto. He was also a member of Phi Kappa Delta Fraternity for over 65 years.
On April 4, 1991, he was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records for having two euchre games back to back on 30 points in two consecutive games or six hands. The odds for this accomplishment are 30 billion to one.
