John Aldon Donahue

John Aldon Donahue died October 5, 1988 at his home in Mercer Island, Washington. Formerly of South Bend, Indiana, he moved to Seattle in 1942. He was born in South Charleston, Ohio on September 30, 1915 to parents William and Margaret nee Allen Donnahue. The family soon moved to South Bend where he was reared and received his education. He married his beloved wife of 46 years, Peg nee Brant in Seattle on April 18, 1942. She survives.

Mr. Donahue was an engineer for Boeing Aircraft Inc for three years and vice president and part owner of Colby Steel & Manufacturing Co., Seattle. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

Also surviving were three daughters, Mary Hamilton of Hawaii, Patricia Griswold and Betsy Chappelle of Seattle; three sons, Michael and Mark of Seattle, and John of Fremont, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Mary L. Kistler and Margaret A. Condon, both of South Bend; and three brothers, William A. of Mishawaka, Robert of South Bend and Charles of California.

Memorial services were held on October 15, 1988 in St. Monica's Catholic Church, Mercer Island. The body was donated to the University of Washington School of Medicine Research. Hickey Funeral Home, Cleveland Road Chapel directing local arrangements.
