Helen Ann (Desits) Darnold

Helen Ann Darnold, 48, of 1911 Franklin St., a former secretary at Studebaker Corp., died at 1 a.m, Sunday in Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for the last six months.

Born here on Feb. 7, 1916, she was married as Helen Desits on Jan. 5, 1946, to Vernon Darnold, who survives. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Desits, of South Bend: two sons; Christopher Michael and Richard Vernon, both at home: four brothers, John, Joseph and Steven, all of South Bend, and Emery, of North Liberty, and a sister, Mrs. Francis Peyton, South Bend.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Zahoran Funeral Home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church with the pastor, Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Sabo, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

She was a member of the South Side Democratic Club Auxiliary.

The rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7 p.m. today by members of the 1962 graduating class of Our Lady of Hungary School
