Irene G. (Cleveland) McDaniel
May 30, 1915 - March 11, 2005
Irene G. McDaniel, 89, of Palau Avenue In Mishawaka, died at 4 p.m. Friday, March 11th, in Holy Cross Health Care. She was born in Topeka, Indiana, on May 30, 1915, to Jay E. and Lavina (Fleck) Cleveland. Irene was a homemaker and a barber instructor at Tanners Barber College in South Bend. She graduated from Central High School in South Bend.
She married Woodrow M. McDaniel in South Bend on November 25, 1937. He died November 1 , 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Julia Cleveland; and by a half sister, Joyce Draper.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Richard) Anderson of Mishawaka; a son, Rex McDaniel of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Michael (Nancy) Ward, Lori Ward, Kenneth (Karen) Ward, Carey McDaniel, Kelly (Jesse) Kendall and John McDaniel; and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two half brothers, Jay E. Cleveland Jr. of North Carolina and Clyde Cleveland of Alabama.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday, March 14th, in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 1 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Ervin Mize officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
