Elsie M. (Clemens) Newell

Elsie M. Newell, 90, of Spring Lake died Friday, April 29, 2005. She was born in Springfield, Mass., on Aug. 18, 1914, to Alfred and Anna (Wirta) Clemens.

She married Lawrence Clark in 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1942. She married R.J. Newell in 1946 in Muskegon, and he also preceded her in death in 1967

Mrs. Newell was secretary to the superintendent of the Fruitport Schools. She was a member of Coopersville Bible Church and active in the Ladies Fellowship.

Survivors include three sons: Thomas (Ginger) Newell of Pelion, S.C.,. Rick (Christi) Newell of St. George, Utah, and Roger (Pat) Newell of Valrico, Fla.; two daughters, Marianna (Richard Jr.) Nelson and Kendra Dobb, both of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren; 17 great a sister, Edna Parker of Dunedin, Fla.; and a brother, Alfred, (Ann) Clemens of Springfield, Mo.

Arrangements are being handled by Clock Funeral Home of Fruitport.
