Gene Bogardus, 83, of South Main Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on Aug. 27, 1913, in South Bend.
He was married in South Bend to Dorothy M. Gustafson, who preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 1985.
He is survived by a niece, Terrell Gustafson Frain of South Bend, and by a nephew, Randall Gustafson of Seattle, Wash.
Mr. Bogardus retired from the South Bend Water Works.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood. Cremation will tollow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association
