SOUTH BEND William A. Bodnar, 77, of 19528 Eaton Ave., died at 4:06 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after an illness.

Mr. Bodnar retired in 1970 from the production control in the guidance system of Bendix Corp. after 11 years of service and also retired in 1985 from American Animal Hospital Association after 10 years of service.

He was born July 2, 1915, in Kincaid, Ill., and lived in South Bend most of his life, coming from Kincaid.

On Nov. 1, 1947, in South Bend, he married M. Jane McNeil. She survives with a son, William M. of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Venderly of South Bend.

He was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and Council Oak Lodge 745.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home, where Masonic services will be at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
