Thomas Piech

Thomas Piech, 62, of San Francisco, formerly of South Bend, died Saturday in his home. He retired from Grand Trunk Western Railroad. He was born May 31, 1925, in South Bend, and he lived in the area until 1968.

In 1948, in South Bend, he married the former Jean Wolf, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Michelle Piech of Mesa, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Jessica Piech of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Anne Hoffman and Ethel Winkowski, both of South Bend; and three brothers, Frank and Robert, both of South Bend, and Edward of San Antonio, Texas.

Cremation has taken place in San Francisco. memorial Mass will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday in St. Anthony de Padua Church.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Medical Corps.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Potrero Hill Health Center in San Francisco
