Robert E. Laffoon

SOUTH BEND Robert E. Laffoon, 65, of $241 White Maple Court, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Laffoon retired from Montgomery Ward in 1981. He was born Feb: 8, 1925, in Jasonville, Ind.

He lived in the area since 1982, coming from Plymouth, where he lived for 23 years. On March 27, 1948, in South Bend, be married Phyllis A. Sloan. She survives with a daughter, Cheri Poland of Herndon, Va.: four sons, Robert E., Craig and Kent, all of Plymouth, and Gary of South Bend; six grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Britton of South Bend.

He was a member of American Legion Post 50 and Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from to 8 p.m. Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or to the church.
