Lyle J. Kinnaman

Lyle J. Kinnaman, 72, of South Bend, Ind., passed away after a brief illness at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Kinnaman was born on Nov. 24, 1924, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

He retired in 1985, after 38 years as a director of Customer Service with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving three years in India.

On July 16, 1949, in South Bend, he married Rose Marie Sule, who survives. He is also survived by a brother in-law, Jack Sule of South Bend; a sister-in-law, Betty Sule of South Bend; and two nieces, Cathleen McMinn of St. Louis, Mo. and Sheryl Allison of South Bend.

A sister, Isabelle Brownfield, preceded Mr. Kinnaman in death on Oct. 4, 1980.

There will be no services; cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437, or to the charity of donor's choice. Kaniewski Funeral Homes, Inc., is in charge of arrangements
