Betty M. Guyton, 77, of Fir Lane, South Bend, died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb.1, 2003, in Hospice House of St.Joseph County. Betty retired in 1983 from Robertson’s Department Store after 20 years of service.

She was born Sept.13, 1925, in South Bend to the late Edward I. and Helen (Fischer) Hensel and has lived in this area all her life.

On April 6, 1946, in South Bend, she married Lawrence Guyton who preceded in death on August 2, 1999.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Michael) McCall of Mishawaka and Sharon K. (Michael) Geyer of Arlington, TX; one son, Larry E. (Eileen) Guyton of Granger, Ind.; six grandchildren, Andrew, Rick, and David Geyer, Jeffrey Guyton and Stephen and Becky McCall. Also surviving are two sisters, Lois (Richard) Zeller of Mishawaka and Janice Mattox of South Bend.

Memorial Services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. South Bend, IN. Rev. David M. Doan, pastor at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Entombment will take place at a later date in the Highland Cemetery Mausoleum, South Bend. Friends may call two hours prior to services and the funeral home.

Mrs. Guyton was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Osceola, White Shrine, and the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church’s Building Fund or Hospice of St.Joseph County
