Marian (Culp) Cline Horne

On Saturday, March 8, 2014, Marian C. Horne passed from this life. Born in South Bend, Ind., graduated from South Bend Central High School. Member of Choir, Swim Team, Drama Club and South Bend City Junior Tennis Champion. Graduated from Purdue University with B.S. in Clothing and Textiles.

Member of "Triton" Swimming honorary and Purdue Glee Club. Received Library Science Certification from University of Virginia. Was school librarian in Roanoke County. Volunteer at Vinton Library and Blue Ridge Parkway. Librarian at First Presbyterian Church. Girl Scout leader in Indianapolis, Ind. and Cub Scout leader in Roanoke, Va. Served as Board member of two Methodist Churches and Deacon of Presbyterian Church. A current member of Green Memorial Methodist Church. Moved to Roanoke from Indianapolis in 1970. Married Nile T. Horne in 1985. An enthusiastic golfer at Hunting Hills Country Club and Club Champion and an avid contributor to the Roanoke Times Op-Ed Dept.
