Joseph P. Sieczko, 51, of 1815 Linden, died at 2 a.m. Sunday apparently as the result of a heart attack. He was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital. He was born a on April 28, 1927, in Dowagiac, and lived in South Bend most of his life.
He was a machinist for the Bendix Corp. for five years.
On July 8, 1950, in South Bend he married Teresa Jankowski, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Christine Gierzynski of Palo Alto, Calif., and Judy. and Jeanette, both at home; five sons, Lawrence of South Bend, Robert, Jeffrey and Timothy, all at home, and Michael of Mountain View, Calif.; and four brothers, Stanley, John, and Henry of South Bend and Ted of Niles.
Sieczko was a veteran of World War II and a member of V.F.W. Post 8748.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Albin L. Hosinski, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home.
