Florence E. (Regard) James

Florence E. James, 87, of Silver City, entered eternal rest Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at Fort Bayard Medical Center, with her daughter Barbara at her side. She was born Jan. 9, 1929, in South Bend, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gilbert J. James.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara James of Silver City, and Chris James of Las Vegas, Nevada; son, Stephen James and wife, Sandra, of Tracy, California; six grandchildren, Cassidy Wolf, Tiffany Sires, Rob Thomas, Jenny Kennedy, Jasmine Richard and Jared James; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elsie Ann Myers and her husband, Paul, of Riverside, California.

She retired in 2009 from the USFS in Silver City, where she worked in the human resources office for over 15 years.

She spent her last days in the care of Fort Bayard Medical Center. Gratitude is extended to Fort Bayard and staff for their support and compassionate care during her final days.

No service will be held at the family's request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the High Desert Humane Society, 3050 S.
