Chester Casimer Kregger, 47, of 705 N. Johnson, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Jul 22, 1976, in Healthwin Hospital after a 10-month illness. Kregger was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 29 years. Born on Dec. 6, 1928, in South Bend, he lived here all his life.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Alice M. Przybylinski of Michigan City, and seven nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Albin L. Hosinski, C.S.C., pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home.

Kregger was a Korean War veteran and a member of the Golden Hills Post 8748, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Pulaski Post 357, American Legion; Nest 4, M.R. Falcons; German Club; Bowlers Country Club; South Bend Umpires Association; the Postal Union, and the Ushers Club of the church.
