Marnette M. (James) Winston
April 26, 1929 - June 3, 1999
Marnette M. (James) Winston, 70, was born on April 26, 1929, in South Bend, Ind. The daughter of John James and Mildred Rouse, and granddaughter of Georgia Taylor, she is survived by her husband of 50 years, Sam; two daughters, Janice Winston of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and Rev. Jacquelyn Winston of Altadena, Calif.; her grandson, James E. Plump of South Bend; and a sister, Elfreda Ng of Chicago, Ill.
Her only son, Kevin, passed away two years ago.
Marnette graduated from Central High School and Thomas Business College in South Bend. She served as an order book and court clerk with the South Bend County Court House, and was a soloist with the St. John Baptist Church choir.
When the family relocated to Los Angeles in 1970 she became a fundraiser with the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes, Easter Seals and St. Vincent's Medical Center.
She was interred at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Memorial Park in Los Angeles, Calif
