Betty Doyle

FORT WAYNE, IN - Betty Doyle, 91, passed away on April 13, 2021. She was born in South Bend, IN on June 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Albert and Helen Horvath. She was a graduate of Central High School in South Bend and attended St. Francis College for one year, where she met her future husband, Jack. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Together Jack and Betty raised 6 children. She was a caring wife and mother. Her true calling was caring for others, including her husband, mother and son. She is survived by her children, Kevin Doyle, Matt (Colleen) Doyle, Peggy (Rod) Bryant, Kathy (Pat) Merkler, Margie (Dave) Pelz; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and brother, Bobby Horvath. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Doyle; son, John Doyle; brother, Richard “Botchie” Horvath; daughter-in-law, Myra Sullivan; and her infant twin great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 19, 2021 at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 2110 Pemberton, Ft. Wayne, IN 46805 with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Ft. Wayne, IN, 46805. Burial will take place in Highland Park Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, Heartland Hospice, or Lutheran Life Villages of Pine Valley.
