NORMAN M. DURSKI

SOUTH BEND - Norman M. Durski, 83, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 8:47 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013, at Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on October 21, 1929, to the late Stanley Sr. and Martha (Paskiet) Durski in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Bowers; a brother, Stanley Durski, Jr.; and a son-in-law, Michael Gorzkiewicz.

Norman graduated in 1947 from South Bend Central High School.

Mr. Durski retired on January 1, 1989, from Honeywell Corp., where he worked as a Tool and Die Maker for 38 years.

On February 24, 1951, he married Patricia A. Paholski at St. Stanislaus B & M Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. She passed away on October 3, 2009. Norman is survived by his daughter, Vickie Gorzkiewicz of South Bend, IN; his son, Gregory (Patricia) Durski of Fort Worth, TX; four grandchildren, Derek Durski, Chad (Heather) Call, and Corey Call; three step-grandchildren, Evan Gorzkiewicz, Matthew (Samantha) Gorzkiewicz, and Kelsey (Greg) Howard; two great-grandchildren, Kaylin Durski and Molly Call; one step-great-grandson, Colin Howard; one brother, Sylvester Durski of South Bend, IN; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Bowers of North Liberty, IN; and Thomas (Marcia) Paholski of Lady Lake, FL.

Norman was a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers veteran, where he served his country during the Korean War. He was a former member of V.F.W. Post #624 in Roseland, IN. Norman enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, with Deacon Ervin Kuspa officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN, where full Military Honors will be conducted. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Leighton Heart & Vascular Center, 615 N.
