Age 90 Passed away on August 7th after a long battle with dementia. Bill was born in Chicago on October 8, 1929. He was the second son of Ralph and Freda Brummund. He grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and was forever an avid Notre Dame and Cubs fan. While employed at the FBI in Washington, DC, he attended American University before returning to South Bend where he attended Indiana University.

He spent 35 years in banking in Indiana, Florida, St. Paul and New Mexico. Outside of the banking world, Bill stayed involved with a wide range of civic and professional organizations. He served as President and was on the Board of the St. Paul Minute Men which promoted professional sports and worked on bringing the St. Paul Fighting Saints to town. He also served on the Board of Kiwanis in St. Paul, Minnesota World Trade Association, Rotary and Chamber of Commerce.

In 1976, Bill's life changed when he married the love of his life, Dorie, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. Bill and Dorie shared 44 years of adventure owning and operating a travel agency for 20 years enabling them to visit over 100 countries on six continents. Always achieving the highest recognition, he received a Congressional appointment to the White House Council of Travel and Tourism in 1995.

He also served as President of the Association of Panhandle Travel Agents and held several offices in the SW Chapter of the American Society of Travel Agents. Additionally, in New Mexico he also served on the Committee of Fifty which is a professional liaison group with Canon AFB and was President of the Outdoor Amphitheater.

For many years Bill and Dorie traveled between South Texas and Minnesota; however, they permanently relocated to Apple Valley, Minnesota, in 2013. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his son Wayne Brummund and his grandson Gavin Brummund who gave his life in Afghanistan.

Bill is survived by Doris, his beloved wife of 44 years, his sons Terry Brummund and Gregg Brummund, both of California, along with his daughter-in-law, Kathy Brummund, also of California. Also surviving are his stepsons Tim McDermott (Lynne) of Eagan, Kevin McDermott of Apple Valley, Terry McDermott (Eblin) of St. Louis and Bil Brummund, Jr. (Deb) of Brainerd. He has 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Thursday 11AM, August 13, 2020 at White Funeral Home in Apple Valle, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service.
