John Francis Prebys (Przybysz)

John F. Prebys, 69 of Houston formerly of Lake Jackson passed away Wednesday, February 11, 1998 at the Veterans Hospital in Houston after a four year Battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease. John was an area resident from 1965 through 1984 when he moved to Houston. John was a member of Columbus council number 6812 and was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church.

He is survived by wife Alene Prebys of Houston; three children Mike Prebys and wife Jamie of Lagos, Nigeria, Carole Shelby and husband Dave of New Orleans, Pat Prebys of Clute; two grandchildren Sara Shelby and Michael Shelby; and a sister Helena Broniarczyk of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Rosary services will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Lakewood Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lakewood Chapel, Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. Tuesday- at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Interment at 3:00p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery with Father Leo Wieczyk officiating.
