Harlan Alton Lusk

Harlan Alton Lusk, 89, of South Bend died at 8:47 p.m. Saturday, November 10th in Memorial Hospital following an illness. Mr. Lusk was born December 14, 1928 in South Bend to the late Ethel M. (Devenport) and Alton G. Lusk and was a lifetime area resident.
On November 26, 1948 he married Joyce Holston who preceded him in death April 15, 1960.
On August 9, 1974 in South Bend he married Adele Scofield who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Debbie Scofield (Brett Kibler) of Warrenton, MO, Chris Czaplinski (John) of Las Vegas, NV, and Leann Rybicki (Todd) of South Bend; five sons, Frederick H. Lusk (Karen) of Carmel, IN, James M. Lusk (Patricia) of Avon, IN, David B. Lusk (Esther) of Lake Lure, NC, Harry L. Lusk of Brownsburg, IN, and Alan N. Lusk (Alice Isaacson) of South Bend; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Harlan retired as CEO of Verkler, Inc. He was a member of South Bend Country Club for 56 years, joining April 1, 1962. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Past President of the Associated General Contractors of Indiana, Board member of Hamilton Grove and many other organizations.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 15th in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. with Rev. Brian Durand of Clay Church officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
