Services for James Flowers, 57, of 54621 N. 28th St., who died at 9:55 a.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Hickey Funeral Home.

He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the church, American Legion Post 50 and Clay Lions Club. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Flowers was a self-employed carpenter for 40 years.

He was born May 4, 1928, in South Bend, and lived in this area all his life.

On Aug. 2, 1952, in South Bend, he married Mary L. Cook, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Michael J. of South Bend and Joseph R. of Steger, Ill.; five grandchildren; and his mother, Helen C. Flowers of South Bend.
