Betty Lou Brenton

APRIL 12, 1928 – MAY 29, 2015

Betty Lou Brenton, 87, Kokomo, passed away May 29, 2015. She was born on April 12, 1928 in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Ernest and Dessie (Keltner) Eller.

Betty graduated from Central High School in South Bend in 1945. She was a stay at home mother, raising her children. Later Betty went to work at Woody's, later known as Well's Alto Express, for 22 years and retired at the age of 80. She loved her family and family gatherings. Betty enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, and the occasional trip to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sons, James Brenton and Andrew Brenton, Sr., her brother, Robert Eller, and her sisters, Ruth Leonard and Ann Garwood.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruthanne Boothby (Jack); her grandchildren, Jennifer Gravitt (Scott), Christina Bowers (Kyle), Matthew Boothby (Beth), Andrew Brenton (Dawn), and Nathan Boothby (Amber); her great-grandchildren, Caleb Bowers, Korey Bowers, Alexander Boothby, Elliott Boothby, Kaitlyn Boothby, Alec Brenton, Aden Brenton, Ava Brenton, Harbor Boothby, and Cannon Boothby; her brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Euniece Eller; and her daughters-in-law, Linda Brenton and Brenda Ellison.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Bozard, Dr. Abbasi, Dr. Schultz, and the St. Joseph Cancer Center. They would also like to thank Waterford Healthcare Campus, who became her second family over the past year.

Services will be on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 2 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, with visitation from 12 PM until service time. Minister Andrew Brenton, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the St. Joseph Cancer Center, 1907 W. Sycamore, Kokomo, IN 46901.
