Donald R. Borntrager

Donald R. Borntrager, 55, of 24205 16th St., Niles, formerly of South Bend, died at 8:40 a.m. today in the emergency room at Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He was employed by the Midwest Distributing Co.

Born on May 18, 1928, in South Bend, he lived here all of his life. His wife, Darlene Knox, survives, along with three daughters, Mrs. Jody Cenkush and Miss Janet Borntrager, both South Bend, and Mrs. Julie Oletti of Woodridge, Ill.; a son, James Borntrager, a student at Purdue University, Lafayette; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Cynthia Antus of Niles and Miss Lynda Knox of South Bend; a stepson, David Knox of Buchanan; five grandchildren; and a sister, Miss Rita Borntrager of South Bend.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Hickey Funeral Home, where rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

He was a veteran of the Korean War.
