Merl B. Young

YOUNG, Merl B. died October 18, 2005 in a Phoenix hospital. He was born in Illinois December 14, 1914. His family moved to South Bend, Indiana when he was an infant. He moved to Tucson in the early 1950's.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth R. Young, June 12, 2005, also three sisters, two brothers and his oldest Michael A. Young of Idaho.

Mr. and Mrs. Young had been married almost 50 years and spent the last 30 years living at Tucson Estates where he was an avid golfer. He retired in 1978 from Metropolitan Insurance Company.

He is survived by a son, John M. Young of California; six grandchildren in California, Missouri and Arizona and seven great-grandchildren in California.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Mr. and Mrs. Young's lives at Mission Park Baptist Church, 2101 West Ajo Way, October 29, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Hospice of Arizona
