Maurice D. Reed

Maurice D. Reed, 48, of 60037 US. 31 S., died at 2 a.m. Sunday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fort Wayne, after an illness of one month.
He worked for Bolin's Driveway. He was born March 15, 1915, in South Bend.
He married Marie Lipetska in 1938 in South Bend. Surviving are three sons, Maurice, Michael and Ronald, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Reed, of South Bend; two brothers, Harold of South Bend and Harvey Jr. of San Leandro, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Wilmes of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. I. V. Auiler of Lodi, Calif., and Mrs. E. F. McClardon of Springfield, N. J.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Walsh-Bilancio Colonial Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Jude's Catholic Church. Rev. John J. Szot, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
A member of the St. Jude's Holy Name Society, he was a major in the Air Corps in World War II and previously was member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was awarded the Purple Heart in World War IL. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. John Peter Koechel.
