Vera Kathryn (Shemet) Hoffman

Vera S. Hoffman, 72, of 4441 Irish Hills Drive, died at 5:44 a.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Hoffman was a former employee of Bendix Corp. and South Bend Community School Corp.

She was born Feb. 17, 1916, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On July 1, 1947, in South Bend, she married Paul H. Hoffman, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, John P. of South Bend and James B. of Granger; four grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Slater of Eureka, Calif.

She was a member of Hilltop Lutheran Church and Memorial Hospital Women's Auxiliary.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hilltop Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and one hour before services Sunday in the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church building or organ fund
